If you have been thinking about trying yoga but not sure what to expect, you're in the right place!
"This was my first time attending a yoga class in a studio and it was great. My instructor was patient with everyone and made sure they were having a great time but at the same time making sure you were doing the poses correctly. I left feeling like I was part of a new yoga family. I will definitely be back, thanks!"
YOU'RE ABOUT TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP TOWARD A NEW YOU
The hardest thing about starting yoga is walking into a yoga studio for the first time. We invite you to let go of ideas of what yoga is and what type of person practices yoga. Everyone can practice yoga. Regardless of flexibility, age or physical fitness, you're welcome here.
Don't worry if during your first class you aren't able to touch your toes. The more you practice, the more you'll experience an overall relaxation of your muscles and connective tissue, and eventually, seemingly impossible poses will become possible. Most likely, you'll start to notice that chronic aches and pains diminish or even disappear entirely. That's no coincidence. By relaxing your muscles and connective tissue you allow your body to return closer to a healthy alignment and optimal posture, reducing pain, improving sleep and brightening your overall mood. You may also notice that you begin to feel stronger and more relaxed.

WHERE TO START?
We recommend starting with the Introductory Offer of $39 for 2 weeks of unlimited yoga (paddleboard not included). That gives you a chance to attend as much as you want, try different types of classes, and see how you feel with a regular yoga practice.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE?
With the Introductory 2 Weeks for $39 offer you have access to unlimited yoga. Take advantage of this opportunity. Plan to attend 3-4 classes a week. Learn what you like about different classes, instructors and times. You may surprise yourself. For example, practicing at 6:00 am is very different than practicing at 5:30 pm, but completely worth the early-morning alarm! We suggest you try a morning class at least once and see how you feel when you start your day with yoga.
Maintain a frequency of at least 3 classes a week as you develop a regular practice and you'll rapidly see changes in your body, sleep and mood.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY FIRST CLASS?
ACCEPTING ENVIRONMENT - At One Heart Yoga we all support each other! Classes are warm and friendly and your instructors will offer you options so that you are comfortable in the postures. We know that a yoga practice can be different every day, and a posture that was comfortable yesterday may be challenging today. That's typical. Do your best and you'll receive 100% of the benefits, even if you can't touch your toes.
DURATION - Classes at One Heart Yoga are usually 60 - 75 minutes, special events and workshops vary.
TEMPERATURE - Most classes are at room temperature or cooled to a typical indoor temperature in the summer. We also offer hot yoga classes moderately heated (80-90 degrees). Heat relaxes muscles and connective tissue, allowing your body to move safely deeper into the posture.
WHICH CLASSES SHOULD I ATTEND?
New students are welcome in almost all of our classes! Unless otherwise noted, no previous yoga experience is necessary. Instructors will teach postures with options for modifications so that all students are able to adjust the postures as they desire.
Each instructor has a different style, so we recommend trying out a few different classes and instructors until you find the best fit for you. Please feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org with additional questions. We are happy to help!
